Development & Management
in Latin America
The accadis Hochschule in Bad Homburg is a private university offering a wide range of management-related bachelor and master programmes. The major in travel and tourism, offered as a 3-year course with nine trimesters, leads to a graduation as bachelor, and provides a practice-oriented appraoch to tourism management.

During this trimester, I was invited to lecture on tourism management as part of the regular curriculum. During two days, the students were thus given the opportunity to learn about the application of international tourism planning and development. The focus on sustainable tourism in connection with practical examples from several Latin American countries was thereby met with a high level of acceptance.

All in all, the lecturing assignment was highly successful, both from the points of view of the students and the lecturer. Received feedback showed a significant learning experience in the areas of tourism development, sustainability and intercultural competence. Moreover, the interactive way of presenting the lecture along a clearly structured leitmotif resulted in remarkable acceptance and a consistently positive response from the audience.

Also from my personal point of view, it was a great pleasure to work with the highly motivated and engaged class during the two days. The discussions were lively and provided new insights into the topics treated.
So I would be looking forward to continue the work at accadis in the future -- and would be ready to embark on new topics either in a lecturing assignment or with the supervision of a bachelor thesis.
